VIDEO: Lynwood Students Shine during Spooktacular Celebrations

Lynwood Unified schools came alive with the joy of Halloween and Día de los Muertos, with students, teachers and families celebrating the holidays with color, culture and creativity. From pumpkin patches and parades to beautifully crafted altars honoring loved ones, our campuses became a vibrant showcase of tradition and seasonal cheer.

At Helen Keller Elementary School, students presented their custom-designed pumpkins at a festive pumpkin patch fundraiser and voted on the most impressive creations.

Schools across the District held Halloween costume parades and Trunk-or-Treat events, with ABC7 News featuring Mark Twain Elementary School’s grand Halloween costume contest, where staff cast their votes for the most original, funniest, scariest and cutest costumes.

Lynwood High School and Will Rogers Elementary School hosted Día de los Muertos celebrations, where students embraced the tradition by building altars, dressing up as Catrines and performing for an audience of peers, staff and family members. Lincoln Elementary School will host its Día de los Muertos Trunk-or-Treat on November 6.

Behind every parade and pumpkin display was a team of dedicated teachers and staff working tirelessly to give students experiences they’ll cherish for years to come. These celebrations have brought warmth and joy to all classrooms, connecting us all in the true spirit of Lynwood.
