All Lynwood Unified Schools Honored with 2024 PBIS Awards

For the third consecutive year, all 17 Lynwood Unified schools have been honored with 2024 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Awards, earning recognition in the Platinum, Gold, and Silver categories for implementing practices that encourage positive behaviors and contribute to the social and academic success of students.

The PBIS Awards, presented by the California PBIS Coalition, acknowledge schools that have successfully integrated a multi-tiered system of support to create positive school climates, reduce disruptive behaviors, and enhance learning outcomes for all students. Each level of recognition reflects a school’s commitment to sustaining best practices that align with the PBIS framework.

Lynwood Unified’s PBIS initiatives include strategies that promote consistent behavioral expectations, positive reinforcement, and collaboration between staff, students, and families to address behavior issues proactively. The practices are designed to ensure students are equipped with the social-emotional tools they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond. Below are Lynwood Unified’s PBIS award winners:

Platinum

Abbott, Lindbergh, Lugo, Mark Twain, Roosevelt, Will Rogers, and Wilson elementary schools; Hosler Middle School; and Vista and Lynwood high schools

Gold

Silver

The District’s recognition across multiple award categories showcases the strength of Lynwood Unified’s comprehensive approach to supporting students’ well-being and academic growth.
