Superintendent's Community Message | February 1, 2026

Dear Lynwood Unified Community,

Last week, we were proud to gather with students, staff, parents, community members and partners at the Lynwood High School Imperial Campus for a Beam Signing and Topping Off Celebration. Together, we signed the final beam before it was raised to the top of the steel classroom structure, marking an important milestone in the reconstruction of the campus.

Moments like these remind us that this work is truly a community effort, and we are excited to continue moving forward with plans to reopen the campus in Fall 2027.

Last Friday, we also celebrated a meaningful milestone at Lugo Elementary School with the ribbon cutting of a new Parent Center designed specifically for families of students with special needs. This inclusive space reflects our commitment to supporting every family by providing access to essential resources, education and support. I extend my sincere thanks to our Special Education Department and our families for their collaboration and dedication to creating a welcoming environment for all.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that enrollment for the 2026–27 school year opens on Monday, February 2. Lynwood Unified offers a wide range of innovative programs, including STEM, visual and performing arts, athletics, dual enrollment, career pathways and Dual Language Immersion – ensuring students can explore their passions and prepare for the future.

We invite families to visit our enrollment website to learn more and discover how to become a proud Lynwood scholar.

With each milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and inspiring schools for every student. Thank you to our families, staff and community for continuing to walk alongside us as we shape the future of Lynwood Unified.

Sincerely,

Patrick Gittisriboongul, Ed.D.
Superintendent, Lynwood Unified School District
